Although I chose to make my chair out of wood, one of the more common 'green' options is cardboard. This makes the chairs light-weight, flexable, and easily managed. There are a few drawbacks however. When cardboard gets wet it stays wet for a long time and produces a not so pleasant odor; therefore, furniture made out this material would have to be kept inside away from potentially harmful weather.
